Guwahati, April 30: A serious street accident had taken place on Ganeshguri Flyover at 3 p.m yesterday. According to eye-witness of the incident, a speeding motor-bike knocks down an old man on the road. The man is severely injured in his head and died within five minutes on the spot. There was no time to take him to hospital. The biker also severely injured in his leg which got fractured. A large number of people gathered immediately on the spot to help them. Policeman and ambulance van came immediately. The injured biker and the dead person were taken to Guwahati Medical College Hospital. It was later discovered that the biker was under the influence of intoxication.

School in its auditorium Hall at 10 a.m. yesterday in presence of students, teachers and some respectable persons of the locality. The function was organized by the students with great enthusiasm. The function was presided over by S.K. Sarkar, the Headmaster of the said school. The teachers were felicitated with ‘phulam Gamocha’ and pen. The respectable persons as well as the students of the school delivered their brief but valuable speech on the significance of the day. Each of them stressed on the fact that there should be a good relation between the teachers and the students. Otherwise progress in the student-community is not possible. Last of all, the function came to close with the brief but impressive speech of the president.

Belguri, December 5, 2025: An Inter School Quiz Competition was held at Belguri H.S. School at 1 p.m. yesterday. A total of four schools namely Beltola H.S. School, Tiniali H.S. School, Chariali H.S. School and Belguri H.S. School participated in the competition. The quiz competition was presided over by S.K. Sarkar, the Principal of the host school. Noted quiz master Sri. Suman Choudhury, very competent person conducted the competition very efficiently. The standard of the competition was really very high. The participants were very knowledgeable. The audience also appreciated the competition. Amtola H.S. School won the first prize while Belguri H.S.School got the second one. In his speech, the president highly praised the performance of the participants and he compared it with that of a national level quiz competition.

Agomani, August 15, 2025: The 68th Independence Day is being observed with patriotic and enthusiasm at Agomani H.S. School. The national flag is being hoisted by S.K Sarkar, the Principal of the said school. The national anthem was sung in union by all the students and teachers present there. After the national anthem is over, the principal delivered a valuable speech. In his speech, he reminds the students and the teachers of the sacrifice of the martyrs who laid down their lives for our country. In conclusion, S.M. Choudhury, the General Secretary of the school put forward his vote of thanks to all.

Chariali, August 10, 2025: A debate competition is held at 1 p.m. today at Chariali H.S. School auditorium Hall. The competition was held between Chariali H.S. School and Tiniali H.S. School. It was organised in connection with the celebration of silver jubilee of Chariali H.S. School. The motion of the debate was – ‘Internet – its uses and abuses’. Sri S.K. Sarkar, the principal of Chariali H.S. School was selected speaker of the competition. Chariali H.S. School was for and Tiniali H.S. School was against the motion. The participants of both the teams put forward their arguments in a very logical way like lawyer. The audience listened to them with rapt attention. They highly appreciated the performance of the participants. Suman Sarkar of Chariali H.S. School and Moni Choudhury of Tiniali H.S. School were declared first and second respectively. At last the motion was put to vote and passed in favour of it. Chariali H.S. School was declared the winner team. The speaker highly praised the performance of the participants and compared it with that of a national level debate competition.
